Lady iris received Royal License by King George VI on 29th January 1941 to marry Captain Hamilton O'Malley. She had a close relationship with her paternal aunt Queen Victoria Eugenie De Borbon-Battenberg of Spain and with her paternal grandmother HRH Princess Beatrice of Battenberg Princess of the United Kingdom daughter of Queen Victoria of Great Britain and sister of HRH Princess Alice of Hesse Princess of the United Kingdom.

Lady Iris died in Toronto in Canada on 1st September 1982 and died having not made a Will on Probate in the United Kingdom, but had made a Will on Probate in Toronto in Canada where she settled.
Finally she settled and bought a house in Toronto in Canada, as her second home, England being her home. She died in Toronto in Canada age 62 on 1st September 1982.
