Royal Marriage:-  15th February 1941 in St. Mary's CE Parish in Brantridge Park in Balcombe in Sussex by Special License.  Lady iris received Royal License by King George VI on 29th January 1941 to marry Captain Hamilton O'Malley.  Their Marriage is registered in various Royal Registers to include Buckingham Palace and the Home Office. She is also Baroness of Borrishoole (alias Lady O'Malley or Baroness O'Malley) being wife of a Baron.

Lady Iris was a Debutant and later a Nurse for the Red Cross and helped as a V.A.D worker at East Grinstead, during the war and worked in the War Office. She was also a Bridesmaid to one of her cousins Prince George, 1st Duke of Kent to Princess Marina wedding and also a Bridesmaid to her maternal uncle Hugh Denison 4th Earl of Londesborough to Lady Marygold wedding and also a trainbearer to Queen Elizabeth (later Queen Mother) at the Coronation of King George VI. She had a close relationship with her paternal aunt Queen Victoria Eugenie De Borbon-Battenberg of Spain and with her paternal grandmother HRH Princess Beatrice of Battenberg Princess of the United Kingdom daughter of Queen Victoria of Great Britain and sister of HRH Princess Alice of Hesse Princess of the United Kingdom.  

She was brought up in Spain with the Spanish Royal Family prior to the revolution and later educated in England and completed her education in Munich in Germany, and later returned and settled in England.  A few years after the Divorce, she left for exile. 

She changed her marriage name O’Malley to her birth name/maiden name Mountbatten on 7thJanuary 1949 prepared by Royds Rawstorne & Co. (later Royds LLP.

Lady Iris died in Toronto in Canada on 1st September 1982 and died having not made a Will on Probate in the United Kingdom, but had made a Will on Probate in Toronto in Canada where she settled. 

Finally she settled and bought a house in Toronto in Canada,  as her second home, England being her home. She died in Toronto in Canada age 62 on 1st September 1982.
